Incoming tourism: forecasts for the 2008 season

According to the general secretary of the Tourist Development, Mr. Efstathopoulos, the most prominent change in 2008 season forecasts is the 60% increase that is expected in tourists coming from Russia. According to the same sources it is expected a 2-3% increase in arrivals from Austria, holding the top position in this market for the “Sea and Sun” tourism, a 5% increase in arrivals from Germany (3rd position behind Spain and Turkey), an 8% increase from France (over 900.000 arrivals) and 8% - 10% increase in tourists coming from Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
