A decrease of only 2,56% in charter arrivals was recorded during the last season. According to the RHA (Rhodes Hotels Association) director, Mr. Petros Giakoumis, a total of 1.323.173 tourists arrived to Rhodes by charter from January to November 2009, compared to 1.357.928 in the same period in 2008. Initial projections showed a decrease of about 10% in incoming tourism but the current data shows that Rhodes, contrary to other travel destinations, remains one of the most popular spots in the Mediterranean.
