The world wide economic recession has its repercussions to the tourism sector. During the month of September a marked reduction of incoming tourism was observed in major European destinations. Recent statistics show that 345.855 visitors arrived to the island Rhodes during the month of July 2008 (291.280 foreign and 53.855 domestic arrivals). Most visitors came from Britain with a small increase compared to same month of last year (1,17%) and Germany (0.77% increase).
