According to the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory of Athens, the incident had a magnitude of 6.3 in the Richter’s scale with the epicenter at 70 km depth in the sea area at 30 km south of the coast of Rhodes and caused only very minor damages in a few buildings. There was an indirect victim though. A 56 years old woman died after she fell down the stairs as she was trying to flee her home. There are no reports of other casualties.
